You may have heard that Manheim Township Public Library (MTPL) is the busiest library in Lancaster County. What does that mean? It means that in addition to all the programs and services offered both onsite and online, we circulate the most books and media items of any library in the entire county. In 2023 our checkouts are on track to exceed 600,000 and we circulated 66,100 items in the month of June alone.
More important than the number of checkouts is the quantity and quality of adventures taken and stories told. It’s the amount of family time shared, first pages read, and lessons learned. Your financial support of MTPL directly impacts these shared experiences and new discoveries by building the collection and supporting the staff who make this happen.
Public libraries, including Manheim Township Public Library, rely on several sources of revenue for their operations: state and local governments, fundraising events and activities, self generated fees, grants, and donations.
