Dear Library Friend,
As someone who has grown up with the Manheim Township Public Library over the past 10 years, Ben has enjoyed much of the children and young adult collections and the many programs offered. To say Ben is a voracious reader may be an understatement. It is not unusual to see Ben walking out the Library door with a stack of fiction books along with board games and DVDs. Punishment, for him, is taking his books away! Ben is always reading multiple books at a time and often enjoying classic television series with his parents that they borrowed from the Library. He lights up just talking about the Library!
Although Ben is a super unique kid, his use of the Library over its past 10 years is not. In September 2021 over 40,000 items were checked out by our patrons. Even during a pandemic year, over 360,000 physical and electronic materials circulated and almost 400 programs were offered. When multiplying numbers for a typical year over the past 10 years, the impact of the Manheim Township Public Library is huge!
The Manheim Township Public Library Foundation (MTPLF) wants to ensure that kids like Ben continue to grow up with access to high-quality materials and phenomenal programs. Your contribution to the Annual Appeal makes that happen. This year you have an option to fund the present by designating your contribution for operational needs or fund the future by designating your contribution to help establish an endowment fund. An endowment fund helps to ensure continual growth and support for the Library over its next 10 years and beyond. We ask you to consider what the Library has meant to you, your family and your community over the past 10 years and the impact your gift will have over the next decade.
With sincere gratitude,
Laura Lyon Slaymaker, Board President
