How do I get my volunteer clearances?

All volunteers must comply with the requirements for clearances below in accordance with Pennsylvania law and policies established by Manheim Township Public Library. Clearances must be submitted prior to the start of volunteer service, and must be kept up to date to continue volunteering.

All volunteers, regardless of age, must provide the following clearances:

  1. Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check
  2. Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
  3. Either FBI fingerprint based federal criminal history OR the Disclosure Statement Application for Volunteers.
    • FBI certification submitted through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is required if volunteers have not been a resident of Pennsylvania for the past 10 years, or if they obtained their FBI certification at any time since establishing residency. Schedule your appointment here: www.identogo.com/locations/pennsylvania. Please note that there is a fee for this clearance, to be paid by the volunteer. When scheduling your fingerprint appointment, use service code: 1KG738
    • If a volunteer has resided consistently in Pennsylvania for 10 years, to be exempt from FBI certification, the volunteer must swear/affirm in writing the statements in the Disclosure Statement Application for Volunteers.
