Catalog Migration

On September 3rd, 2026, Lancaster County Library System will be launching a brand-new catalog system at all public libraries in the county!

Migrating to a new system isn’t easy and we are thankful to the Lancaster County Library System and PAils for their help in this move. A lot of things on the backend of our system will be changing for staff, but things you will be seeing will change too! Keep an eye on this page for any updates and important dates regarding the migration.

  • August 14: Last day to submit interlibrary loan requests from outside public libraries in Lancaster County
  • August 20: MTPL closes early for staff training
  • August 25: Access to our current online catalog permanently shuts down.
  • August 31: Limited Service Period begins. Library cards are required to check out materials.
  • September 3: New system launches and normal service resumes!
  • Patience! There will be some periods of downtime as we need to move information to the new system!
  • Export any reading history or lists you have in your current catalog account before August 25th- we cannot move this information to the new system!
    • Make sure you have your library card- for a few days during the move we will only be able to check out with your card– NO IDS
    • The migration may disrupt your ability to download titles on Libby–plan accordingly!
    • SMS/text alerts
    • An online catalog with a modern look & featured item lists
    • More library services integrated into online catalog search results
    • Customized email alerts
    • Upgrades to your online account, like being able to add things to your reading history
