Dear Library Friend,
Visiting the Library is a biweekly adventure for Rebecca, her 3-year-old son Joshua, and 21-month old son Jonathan. After visiting with Athena, the tortoise, they stop by Miss Karyn’s office to pick out their stickers and say hello. (If you look closely, you can see the sticker that Joshua selected on the day of our photo shoot!) Their next stop is the early literacy station for educational games, followed by a visit to the train table. No visit to the Library is complete without the boys borrowing a stack of twenty to thirty books to read at home! The family reads and rereads the books before naps, before bedtime, and many times in between. When he is ready for a stack of new books, Joshua reminds his mom it’s time to head back to the library!
The Manheim Township Public Library has the highest number of material circulations in the county, which means that we lend more items to library users like Rebecca and her family than any other library! We love that kids like Joshua and Jonathan can go on adventures at home by borrowing books, media items, and games from our collection. Your contribution through fundraising efforts like the Annual Appeal helps us to replace our well-loved materials and add new materials to the collection. Each dollar raised means adventures can continue for patrons of all ages, as we further our vision of informing, educating, and connecting the citizens of Manheim Township and the community beyond. Any size donation is greatly appreciated and will make a very real and lasting difference.
With sincere gratitude,
Laura Lyon Slaymaker, Board President
